When you travel to Portugal, good accommodation at a good price is no doubt always on your mind. Instead of comparing hotels, why not have a browse around websites like Airbnb for an apartment or spare room? Property owners advertise their flats, rooms and villas all over the world at good prices. Often for much less than the cost of a hotel, you can stay in a full apartment. Here are three examples I found in the Lisbon area.
A two-bedroom apartment that can sleep six people. This apartment, in a quiet part of Cascais, was decorated, painted and improved in August 2011 with new double bed, two individual beds in second room, two individual beds in living room that double as a lounge sofa, table and chairs, new stove and oven, everything crisp and fresh to make your stay in this Cascais apartment relaxing and comfortable!
This Lisbon apartment is located in the boho Bairro Alto district with taverns and bars around its steep cobbled streets. The cosy interior is split into three separate areas, providing a great space to come back and relax in after your day’s activities and space to dine. Popular with artists and students, buzzing and bohemian Bairro Alto is an old part of Lisbon, with lively nightlife, trendy shops and restaurants serving typical Portuguese food.
Situated just outside central Lisbon, close to Belém, this bijou apartment is in an old block of flats but has a very modern décor. It has one bedroom which accommodates two people. Cable TV and wireless internet are also available. There are lots of shops and cafés nearby and you have easy access to public transport. You are also not far from the river.
