Carvoeiro is a very popular Algarve destination. The small fishing village, with its charming square surrounded by cafes and restaurants, attracts many Brits, Germans and other Europeans in holiday season.
You could hire a villa in the town, or you could stay just up the road at Rocha Brava Village Resort, just 3km up the coast from Carvoeiro.
Because Faro is almost in the middle of the Algarve coast, most destinations east and west of the airport are easily accessible without a long journey – Rocha Brava being no exception. You could hire a car but the resort is within a reasonable distance for a taxi. You’d expect to pay around €50 for a taxi from the airport to Rocha Brava, but always check before you begin the journey.
Rocha Brava offers a 24-hour welcome
The resort has a 24-hour reception desk. It’s wonderful knowing that, no matter what time you arrive, you will be greeted with a smile and checked in without fuss.
The friendly staff are always on hand to ensure you have everything you need and are more than happy to impart their expert knowledge of the local area.
Rocha Brava has accommodation to suit all sizes of party; whether you’re a couple or large family. All apartments are fully serviced and the resort provides an excellent level of comfort.
The standard Rocha Brava apartments have all the features you’d expect and sleep between two and seven guests. This is the most cost-effective option.
The next price level on offer is superior accommodation. Available in a variety of sizes, they all come with a glorious sea view.
Detached villa with pool
You can opt to stay in a detached villa. The properties have three or four bedrooms and can sleep up to seven or nine guests. Plus they all come complete with your own private swimming pool.
If you are looking for a room with a view, it is worth considering the superior accommodation but if you are travelling with a larger group, the detached villa with a pool will be ideal.
Which way to the beach?
Holidays in the Algarve mean you are never too far from beautiful gold sand beaches. Rocha Brava resort is right on the coastline, giving you the choice of a number of picturesque beaches during your stay.
Vale Centianes beach is just 1km from the resort and features stunning cliffs and 400m of crisp sandy beach.
If you are looking for more of a tourist hotspot, then head to Carvoeiro beach. Here you’ll find all of the usual amenities as well as lots of water sports and beach activities. Lifeguards monitor the beach and there are a number of restaurants and bars nearby.
Is Rocha Brava a hole in one?
Whether you are visiting the Algarve to sample some of Europe’s finest golf courses or just simply fancy a relaxing round whilst you’re there, the resort is close to some of the best courses in the region.
Not far away, you have Vale de Milho – a family-friendly nine hole course – the Vale da Pinta and Gramacho courses. Both of the latter two have championship qualities.
Vale de Pinta is one of the best-designed courses in the Algarve and Gramacho is a recognised championship course. Ask at reception for directions – you are never too far from the greens.
The beauty of staying here is that you don’t have to venture far to find what you need. You can leave the resort to explore all the Algarve has to offer, but you have many home comforts on the resort.
On site, you’ll find kids’ clubs, sports courts, swimming pools and a choice of restaurants and bars catering for all tastes. Whilst it’s fun to explore some of the authentic restaurants and entertainment on offer in nearby towns, you are well catered for on the resort.
The cherry on top is that you’ll also find a number of well-being facilities at Rocha Brava such as the beauty centre, and a mix of day and night time entertainment to help you let your hair down.
Carvoeiro town offers plenty of traditional Portuguese eateries, as well as a mix of other choices including Italian and Indian food, plus and a nice selection of bars.
The towns of Portimao, Lagoa and Albufeira are all within visiting distance and are great for exploring.
