Porto will reconstruct its historic grand prix circuit this summer for two prestigious events – the historic grand prix (“Grande Prémio Histórico”) and the “Race of Portugal” leg of the World Touring Car Championship 2011.

The streets of Boavista around the Parque da Cidade from the Circunvalação, past Edifício Transparente, past Sea Life Porto and up Avenida da Boavista, will be fitted for racing during May.

The Historic Grand Prix celebrates the 1958 and 1960 seasons when the Portuguese Formula One Grand Prix was raced on the Circuito da Boavista, and the World Touring Car event has been a bi-annual visitor to Porto in recent years.

Fans will be able to watch the races from a number of vantage points, either craning necks to look over shoulders and over barriers, or in specially positioned stands around the circuit.
